 Reliance Jio is going to have a big bang in the near future. An official of Geo said on condition of anonymity that the company is considering launching a 5g smartphone below Rs 5,000, And if that phone sells more, its price will be 2500-3000 thousand rupees.

Under this scheme, The company will try to attract 200 to 300 million mobile users who currently using 2G connections. An official of the company, who did not want to be named, said, "Jio wants to keep the price of the device below Rs 5,000. When we increase sales, it could go up to Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000."

Reliance Jio did not respond to emails sent in this regard. 

Currently, 5G smartphones available in India start at Rs 27,000. Jio is the first company to offer free 4G mobile phones to users in India. Under this, Rs 1,500 was paid for the Jio phone, which could be refunded later.

Let me tell you that Reliance is currently providing the cheapest JioPhone 4G smartphone to the people in India, which costs 699 rupees. Along with this, the company has also brought JioPhone2, which costs 2999 rupees. Jio has partnered with Google to launch Android based 4G smartphone, so that 4G and 5G phones can be made available to Indians at low prices.

Mukesh Ambani has talked about making India a country free from 2g connections and emphasised on the need to accelerate migration of 350 million Indians (currently using 2G feature phone) to an affordable smartphone, at a time when India stands at the doorsteps of the 5G era

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries, spoke at the company's 43rd Annual General Meeting to make India 2g free (free from 2g connections) and stressed the need for affordable 5G smartphones. Microsoft invested a whopping $ 4.5 billion (about 32 thousand crores) in Jio Platforms. It is believed that Microsoft's help will be taken in making the operating system for Reliance's cheap 5G smartphones. 

Ambani had also announced Rs 33,737 crore investment by Google for a 7.7 per cent stake in Jio Platforms, and said Jio will partner with the US tech giant to build an Android-based smartphone operating system.

The company is also working on its 5g network equipment and has asked DOT to allocate spectrum for testing of these products. The government has not yet decided on Reliance Jio's request. 5g services are currently not available in India and the government has not allotted spectrum to telecom operators for testing 5G technology. 

When will the Jio 5G phone be launched in India. At this time no information has been given by Jio about this. But it is expected that Jio's 5G phone can be launched by next year i.e. 2021.
